Some tips for being more grounded and present in the body:

Exercise eg. Walking, Yoga, Tai Chi, Martial Arts, Dancing, Running, Gym, Swimming, Cycling..

Using the breath as an anchor. Focussing on the breath can be calming and brings you back to body awareness.

A physical occupation eg. gardening, building, a caring profession..

Holistic Body Therapies such as Aromatherapy, Swedish Massage, Shiatsu, Acupuncture, Reflexology..

Eating a healthy balanced diet with plenty of fresh foods.

Keeping life simple so that the mind and nervous system are calm, and not scattered and distracted..

If you spend a lot of time in your head, caught up in thoughts.. any of the above techniques may be useful for you, to bring you back to the body and enable your mind to be more spacious and peaceful.

If you are in overwhelming emotional or mental pain or distress: giving yourself time, getting help and support eg. talking therapies, support groups.

If you are unable to exercise or work, relaxation, Yoga Nidra, or body scan meditations may help.
